A closed retaining ring is a mechanical part, typically a ring-shaped structure with completely closed ends, capable of encircling the object to be secured by 360 degrees.

- Structural characteristics: It has a complete ring structure with no openings or gaps.  It has a large contact area with the object being secured, providing a stable fixing effect. Some closed retaining rings are elastic; they undergo elastic deformation during installation, and the resulting reverse force after installation causes the retaining ring to tightly grip the shaft.

- Material: Common materials include metals such as stainless steel and brass, which have high strength and wear resistance; there are also plastic closed retaining rings, which are lightweight and corrosion-resistant.

- Working principle: It secures objects through its own elastic deformation. During installation, it usually needs to be heated or a special installation tool is used to make its inner diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the shaft to be secured. After being fitted onto the shaft, cooling or removal of external force causes the retaining ring to contract and tightly grip the shaft, thus providing a fixing effect.

- Application areas: Widely used in various precision mechanical equipment, such as CNC machine tools, automated production lines, and precision instruments. In robotic arms, it can be used to fix bearings at the joints; in fixing tools for transformer oil sample collection, it can be used to fix glass syringes or oil sample bottles.
