Product Information

Open-ended retaining rings are a common mechanical connecting element, also known as elastic locking rings or snap rings. Here is an introduction to them:

- Structural Features: Typically made of high-strength elastic material, such as spring steel, they are shaped like a closed ring with an opening on one side. They can expand or contract when subjected to force.

- Installation and Removal: Due to the opening, installation and removal are relatively easy. By pulling apart or compressing the opening, the retaining ring can be fitted into or removed from the desired position, allowing for quick assembly and disassembly.

- Locking Principle: Open-ended retaining rings provide locking force through elastic deformation. When in the assembled position, internal tension creates pressure, maintaining the connection's security. Under reverse force, they can return to their initial state.

- Common Types: There are various types, including standard type, double countersunk locking type, double threaded hole locking type, single-sided cut type, handle locking type, etc. Different types are suitable for different applications; for example, the standard type is commonly used for shaft end fixing or limit stops, while the handle locking type is suitable for applications requiring frequent disassembly and adjustment.

- Application Scope: Widely used in automotive, machinery, electronic equipment, and other fields, they are used to fix bearings, seals, gears, and other components, preventing axial movement of shaft components during high-speed operation.
